The School of Global Studies and Partnerships and Departments of Geography and Political Science are hosting a Global Studies Briefing on Thursday, November 15 at 6 PM in the Wes Watkins Center. A reception precedes at 5:30 in the Wes Watkins Center Atrium.
The featured speaker is Glen Howard, who is a leading expert on U.S.-Russia relations and the president of the Jamestown Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based institute of non-partisan global research analysis on Eurasian security and political developments. The title of the talk is "The Future of U.S.-Russia Relations."
Howard is fluent in Russian and proficient in Azerbaijani and Arabic, and is also a regional expert on the Caucasus and Central Asia. He was formerly an Analyst at the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) Strategic Assessment Center. His articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst, and Jane’s Defense Weekly. Howard has served as a consultant to private sector and governmental agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Intelligence Council and major oil companies operating in Central Asia and the Middle East.
