The ConocoPhillips GIS Certificate Enhancement Scholarship is designed to provide support for students to complete their Certificate in GIS at OSU. Annual award is $1,000. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and demonstrate a need for how this Scholarship will allow them to finish their Certificate. Applicants should provide (in one document) their resume, including anticipated graduation date, major, and email address, and provide a brief statement of how the impact of this scholarship will help them complete the certificate. Applications must be made to the Geography Awards Committee Chair (Jon Comer) via email by Monday, February 11, 2019 by 4 PM.

Gustavo Ovando, PhD Student, recently was featured on a podcast by a non-profit organization called Indigenas DF, which stands for Indigenous peoples in the Federal District (DF is the former official name of Mexico City).

OSU performed well at the Great Plains-Rocky Mountain regional meetings of the AAG. MS Student Amanda Thomas Lind took 1st place in the student poster competition, while MS student Tessa Cook placed 2nd.

A large contingent of OSU Geographers is making the trek to Manhattan, Kansas (KSU campus) to attend the Great Plains-Rocky Mountain AAG meetings October 5-6.
